April 20, 2015:  This past weekend SHINE Systems & Technologies sent a team of 8 employees to race in the Virginia Institute of Autism’s (VIA) Race for Autism 5K. Congratulations to everyone who ran including Scott Bradshaw, Senior Director of Business Capture who finished the race in the top 25%, and SHINE’s Travel Coordinator Denise Sherfey-Aleshire’s son, Mason, who ran in his very first 5K.

Over 1400 kids and adults ran in the race and the VIA raised $125,000 in funds for the organization. Overall, everyone had a wonderful time running in the gorgeous weather and SHINE was proud to participate as a Platinum Level Sponsor along with other Virginia businesses.

“The Run for Autism is really fun experience, now a top 3 Charlottesville running event, and one we look forward to participating in every year. This year was particularly exciting for me as I am now also serving on the VIA’s Board of Directors. Together with the VIA, SHINE looks forward to continuing our support of this amazing team that helps so many children affected by Autism in Virginia,” said SHINE President, Jeff Thomas.
