CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA. April 16, 2016: This past weekend SHINE Systems & Technologies sent a team of 4 employees to race in the Virginia Institute of Autism’s (VIA) Race for Autism 5K. Congratulations to everyone who ran including Sharon Presgraves, Meaghan Gray, Kay Marie Gray, and Lisa Davis. SHINE President Jeff Thomas, and VIA Board Member, volunteered as a race “pointer” to help guide runners through the course.
Over 1350 kids and adults ran in the race and the VIA raised $120,000 in funds for the organization. Overall, everyone had a wonderful time running in the sunny weather and SHINE was proud to participate as the only Platinum Level Sponsor in the event. We appreciate the special recognition we received from Ethan Long, VIA Executive Director, for our support, participation, and level of sponsorship.
“This is our third year running and supporting the Virginia Institute of Autism, and as a VIA Board Member, I am thrilled to see this organization thrive and continue to make a difference in families’ lives. Our Team SHINE runners, Culture Team, and company understand the direct impact we have on VIA and ensuring autistic children and adults receive the help they need. Our culture is about giving back to the community, and VIA is a longstanding relationship we will continue to nurture,” said SHINE President, Jeff Thomas.
