Annual Awards Highlight Virginia Businesses Demonstrating Great Perseverance
SHINE Systems’ Tayloe Murphy Award
CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA. October 15, 2013 – SHINE Systems & Technologies (SHINE) a leading intelligence analytics, identity intelligence, technology integration, training, and consulting services firm based in Charlottesville, VA has been named a winner in the 2013 Tayloe Murphy Resilience Awards. The annual awards are sponsored by the University of Virginia Darden School of Business’ Institute for Business in Society.
Representatives from each of the thirteen finalist companies gathered at the Darden School’s Abbott Center for a reception, dinner, and awards ceremony. Five companies were named award winners, with SHINE Systems winning in the Services category.
Leaders from each finalist business were invited to participate in a video showcasing this year’s awards and ceremony. SHINE President Jeff Thomas was asked to share his advice for future business owners. He suggested that when starting a business an entrepreneur should “…articulate their vision clearly and be passionate about engaging the right people- employees, partners, customers- to make that vision happen.”
