Palantir FSR Java/C++ Developer

We are seeking smart, experienced engineers to help deploy ground breaking technical solutions to solve our customers’ hardest problems. We help our customers detect insider trading, improve disaster relief, fight healthcare fraud, and more. The current position is located in Washington, DC. Each mission presents different challenges, from the regulatory environment to the nature of the data to the user population. In this role, you work with customers around the globe, where you gain rare insight into the world’s most important industries and institutions.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • FSR Engineers work to accommodate all aspects of an environment to drive real technical outcomes for our customers.
  • As an Engineer, you will help develop a solution in full, from high-level system design and configuration to application development and data integration.
  • You will leverage everything around you: core company products, open source technologies (e.g. GHE), and anything you and your team can build to drive real impact.

Experience and Education

NOTE: Candidate must have TS investigation within the last 5 years. They cannot be enrolled in the continuous evaluation program.

  • Oracle, Postgres, Cassandra, Hadoop, and Spark for distributed data storage and parallel computing.
  • Java and Groovy for our back-end applications and data integration tools.
  • Typescript, React/Redux for our web technologies.
  • Python for data processing and analysis.
  • Commercial standard cloud infrastructures such as AWS or Azure.
  • CentOS/Red Hat Linux as the basis for all our on premise servers.
  • Highly value: Strong engineering background, preferably in fields such as Computer Science, Mathematics, Software Engineering, Physics.
  • Familiarity with data structures, storage systems, cloud infrastructure, front-end frameworks, and other technical tools, as well as an understanding of how technical decisions impact the user of what you’re building.
  • Proficiency with programming languages such as Java, C++, Python, JavaScript, or similar languages.
  • Ability to work effectively in teams of technical and non-technical individuals.
  • Skill and comfort working in a rapidly changing environment with dynamic objectives and iteration with users.
  • Demonstrated ability to continuously learn, work independently, and make decisions with minimal supervision.
  • Willingness and interest to travel as needed (including overseas) per the needs of the business.

Cyber Security Engineer – Secret

Shine Systems is working closely with the Naval Surface Warfare Center Carderock Division, to develop highly sophisticated, large-scale system of systems trainers and tactical decision aids to help Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW) operators train for and operate in complex environments against quiet diesel and nuclear submarines. Leidos is seeking a senior Cybersecurity Engineer to develop complex cybersecurity solutions for the trainers and their development environments.

 

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Develop creative solutions to complex technical issues and problems.
  • Ensure that the team maintains a strong cybersecurity posture.
  • Set direction for team’s cybersecurity resources and operations.
  • Work with the customer and appropriate agencies to develop new policies, design processes, and procedures, and develop technical designs to secure the development environment and trainer systems.
  • Assess system vulnerabilities, implement risk mitigation strategies, validate secure systems, and test security products and systems to detect security weakness.

Experience and Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical degree.
  • Candidate must be 8570.1-M / DoD 8140 compliant with certifications of Security+, SSCP, or CISSP as well as Linux+, RHCE, Network+, or CCNA (or better).
  • Must have 8+ years of cybersecurity work experience. 
  • Must have past experience with, and demonstrate the skills and capabilities to successfully execute the duties and responsibilities of this position.
  • Travel may be required to trainer sites, including Pearl Harbor HI, San Diego CA, Bangor WA, Norfolk VA, Groton CT, and Kings Bay GA, that will not exceed 5% of the job.
