Annual Contest Recognizes Perseverance and Dedication in Virginia Businesses
CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA. Five winners will be named at the awards ceremony following a dinner and reception at the Darden School’s Abbott Center on October 15, 2013. The Resilience Award contest is sponsored by the Institute for Business in Society at the University Of Virginia Darden School Of Business.
The Tayloe Murphy Resilience Awards honor Virginia businesses who have overcome challenges ranging from economic downturns to intense competition to personal tragedy in order to achieve growth and success and who have also displayed commitment to their community, particularly in areas of high unemployment. Nominees are required to document five years of revenue and growth in order to be considered for the award making 2013 SHINE’s first year of eligibility.
