Culture Team Extends Service to VIA

CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA. April 14, 2014 – SHINE Systems & Technologies (SHINE) participated as a corporate Gold sponsor in the Virginia Institute of Autism’s (VIA) Run for Autism 5K on Saturday April 12th, 2014.  VIA has been supporting those affected by autism for 18 years, and the $100K proceeds of the race go towards improving autism services at VIA as well as helping families who have been affected by autism.  This year, more than 1200 runners participated, and SHINE Systems is proud to have had eight among the runners.

SHINE’s commitment and demonstration toward community stewardship and service continues to reflect its culture and people.  The Culture Team works with SHINE Systems employees to model this commitment, and the VIA event is but one of the ways we live it locally.

SHINE’s President Jeff Thomas attended the event and noticed the high participation and energy surrounding it.  He noted, “Autism affects me as well as other members of our company on a daily basis.  To give back to the autism community, VIA in particular, is both a corporate and personal expression of the heart.  We thank VIA for answering the call to help children and adults limited by autism and for their dedication to this community.”
