CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA. January 1, 2011 – SHINE Systems welcomed three new Senior Advisors to their team: Robert Bowers, Kenny Golden, and Walt Levering.

Or, we could say, somewhat new; two of the men have prior experience with SHINE Systems. Golden and Levering shifted positions, as they recently held stance on the company’s Board of Advisors. President Jeff Thomas decided to move them to Senior Advisors “to help the company reach its 2011 goals and jumpstart product development.  Their experience on the Board of Advisors translates into an intimate knowledge of SHINE Systems.”

The appointments will have immediate benefit to SHINE and its customers, as the three men each demonstrate extensive backgrounds and experience applicable to SHINE Systems’ goals.

Robert Bowers, new to SHINE, will assist in Product Development in Military Predictive Intelligence. He offers over 28 years of skillful involvement in special operations and intelligence along with ranger, special forces, air assault, and combat diver qualifications. Bowers’ command experiences involve providing support to the National Security Agency (NSA) and commander of 204th Military Intelligence Battalion, US Army Europe. His staff experiences include chief of the concepts branch at the Intelligence Center and School, Commander of the National Ground Intelligence Center (NGIC), Deputy Director of Intelligence at the National Military Command Center, and chief of the intelligence and electronic warfare division on the Army General Staff.

Bowers feels his “principal focus on predictive intelligence methods and practices and well-versed abilities in strategic and tactical intelligence matters” will prove most beneficial to SHINE Systems’ practices.

Kenny Golden, appointed to Sales and Business Development, brings over 35 years of Naval experience. Currently a retired US Navy Commodore, he still serves as an analyst and expert for the Joint Forces Command and provides his amphibious warfare expertise to deploying USN and USMC commands on the East Coast. Golden’s past is extensive as well, as he led the largest amphibious force from the West Coast since the Korean War, commanding over 10,000 Sailors and Marines, seven capital ships, and over 90 aircraft. Golden has also received several awards including the Defense Superior Service Medal and the Legion of Merit with Gold Star.

Along with the above, Golden feels his personal value is in his “experience here in Hampton Roads as we work to expand our efforts in one of the largest military concentrated areas in the United States.”

Walt Levering joins SHINE with a wide array of professional experiences all of  which are exceedingly suitable for a position in Sales and Business Development. Levering is an accomplished product and support manager and entrepreneur. He was both President and CEO of a community organization that was designated one of President George Herbert Walker Bush’s “Thousand Points of Light”, and was a founding officer and later Chairman of two organizations: the Virginia Piedmont Technology Council (VPTC) and the Virginia Technology Alliance (VTA). He is an active board member of the Shenandoah Valley Technology Council, Region 2000 Technology Council, Virginia Business Incubator Association, local Workforce Investment Board, and was a Board Chairman at Piedmont Virginia Community College (PVCC).

Levering feels the “varied and interesting ‘up close and personal’ experiences of these numerous positions have been a great teacher,” and will be most profitable to his new role.

The Senior Advisors commend SHINE for its reliability to both its customers and employees. Bowers describes SHINE as “agile, creative, and honest,” to its customers with “a firm commitment to excellence.”

Golden agrees, stating “we are committed to [reliability] as part of our creed.”

Levering believes the atmosphere at SHINE contributes to emboldening its employees, which in turn, reflects on the customers as well. “The association with winners, the opportunity to grow and feel influence, the collegial and considerate atmosphere, and a good set of both work and personal ethics are some of SHINE Systems’ most positive attributes.”

The new appointments, according to Golden, “are going to shape the future of the company and the future of our new employees.”

SHINE Systems’ President, Jeff Thomas, is pleased with the experience these gentlemen bring, noting “We are excited to grow SHINE Systems in 2011, and with the character and experience of these Advisors I have great expectations for their contributions to our growth.  Our IC, State Government, and Commercial sector customers will understand the knowledge leadership these men will offer.  Having known and worked with these Advisors at various points in my career, I have firsthand experience with their impacts.  We are honored to have them on our Team.”
