Community Joins Together For Celebration of Small Business Successes
MARTINSVILLE, VA. June 18, 2013 – SHINE Systems & Technologies (SHINE, www.shinesystech.com), a leading intelligence analytics, identity intelligence, technology integration, and consulting firm based in Charlottesville was represented by its President at one of its satellite offices’ local events. “Honoring those in business who have done the extraordinary” was the theme to kick off the Martinsville-Henry County Chamber of Commerce Business Appreciation Luncheon. Susan Horne, President and CEO of LEAD VIRGINIA, recognized those small businesses for their incredible progress as the Keynote Speaker for the Luncheon. LEAD VIRGINIA is an organization committed to connecting leaders to shape Virginia’s future by educating its participants, building social capital, and bestowing the vision to construct a positive change for the state.
Some of the awards given by Martinsville-Henry County Chamber of Commerce, held at the Bassett Country Club, were the 2013 Small Businesses of the Year Award. The 2013 Young Professional of the Year & 2013 Business Person of the Year recognizes “entrepreneurial creativity, determination and commitment to success”. The M-HC Economic Development Corporation presented the Keystone Award to the company who produced the highest number of jobs. For the company or individual who goes “above and beyond” to bring new economic development potentiality for Martinsville-Henry County received the Summerlin-Gardner Award. Distinguished performances within the small business arena also welcomed the Small & Minority Business Award. Lastly, the Tourism Achievement Award was left to commend the noteworthy contributions of a Martinsville-Henry County business to the local tourism industry.

Jeff Thomas, President of SHINE Systems & Technologies, attended the luncheon with some of Martinsville’s SHINE location employees. Their attendance marked the drive to establish SHINE’s ambition and purpose to work hard for next year’s award qualifications. “Our company’s core values of cultivating relationships, principled stewardship, and innovative vision will certainly prepare us for serving this community,” Mr. Thomas commented as he was pleased with the supportive turnout the community had exhibited for the recipients. As being a local native from his youth, accolade was given in meeting representatives of Martinsville-Henry County. He noted, “This in turn will disperse inspiration for representatives and small businesses alike.”
