Sustaining Our Corporate Culture Serves Our Customers and Communities

CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA. February 18, 2014 – SHINE Systems & Technologies (SHINE) is kicking off our 2014 corporate culture efforts with a monthly food drive competition benefiting the Blue Ridge Area Food Bank. The SHINE HUBZone offices are divided into 5 teams, who will compete for monthly incentives based on the largest number of food donations.

Monthly food drives are just one of the initiatives SHINE Systems is implementing this year as part of our corporate goal to sustain and measure our culture quarterly. The Culture Team, made up of staff members Katie Keller, Rod Grimes, Casey Talley, and Denise Sherfey-Aleshire, in partnership with SHINE Systems President Jeff Thomas, is working to plan a variety of events and initiatives to not only boost workplace morale but to enhance SHINE’s corporate citizenship within the communities where we live and work. The Culture Team is responsible for planning and implementing quarterly social events for the staff as well as philanthropically motivated projects such as the food drive and SHINE’s planned participation in the Virginia Institute for Autism’s Run for Autism 5K.

“Culture has been an important part of SHINE since its inception, and I have strived to ensure our culture sets us apart. The Culture Team is hard at work brainstorming and planning new initiatives, and I eagerly anticipate initiatives and events that serve our workforce and our communities in 2014 and the years that follow.” –Jeff Thomas, President, SHINE Systems & Technologies.
