On Thursday, October 16, employees from SHINE Systems and SHINE Management gathered at Chris Greene Lake in Charlottesville for the inaugural One Big Table: a family picnic organized by SMI’s CULTURECrew, celebrating connection and community.

More than 30 team members came out, along with family and friends, for an afternoon full of great food, connection, and fun. A caricature artist had everyone laughing, turning poses into a playful game where guests asked silly questions and cheered each other on. Meanwhile, kids ran, played, and got creative with bubbles, balloons, coloring, and plenty of playground time.

As the evening wrapped up, everyone came together to enjoy BBQ favorites from Mission BBQ. In addition to enjoying delicious food, One Big Table participants supported a food drive benefiting Charlottesville’s Loaves and Fishes (www.cvillefoodpantry.org), a healthy food pantry supporting community families. Thanks to our Team’s generous contributions, 156 pounds of food were collected!

SMI’s CULTURECrew continues to cultivate a positive culture among employees. One Big Table is one of many events organized by CULTURECrew this year including February’s WinterFest, our recent Thanksgiving celebration at Michie Tavern, and our first-ever virtual event in December—“Fun from Afar™”.
